Todd Slavkin is a showrunner, writer & director with over 35 years of experience writing in both film AND television.
Working with his oldest friend and writing/producing partner Darren Swimmer, Todd has worked in all different genres and has written and produced many popular television shows, including SMALLVILLE, SHADOWHUNTERS and most recently THE MYSTERIOUS BENEDICT SOCIETY, for which he was nominated for four Emmys; Outstanding Young Teen Series (2022, 2023), and Outstanding Writing for a Young Teen Program (2022, 2023).
He has written pilots for ABC, NBC, FOX, FREEFORM, SYFY and The CW, where he developed and was the showrunner of MELROSE PLACE 2.0. Other television credits include DEFIANCE, DOMINION, ALPHAS, NO ORDINARY FAMILY and GUILT.
He began his career in features, penning DARK REFLECTION, starring C. Thomas Howell and produced by Kiefer Sutherland, and CONTROL, starring Ray Liotta, Willem Dafoe and Michelle Rodriguez.
Todd attended the University of Southern California, where he earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Film Writing. He’s currently an Adjunct Professor at Chapman University, where he teaches writing, pre-production, production and post-production for the graduate Television Writers Program in Dodge College of Film and Media and Arts.
